We’re so proud to celebrate this moment with you! #BrooklynPowerList #Leadership #CommunityImpact Earlier this month, 26 students, mostly from the CSTEP program, along with several biology professors and members of the SFC academic-support staff, traveled to Bronx Community College for the 57th annual Metropolitan Association of College and University Biologists (MACUB) Conference. While there, attendees heard experts discuss a variety of scientific topics. Several students were recognized for the posters they presented. Celine Morkos and Arlinda Zeqiraj, who were mentored by Dr. Katsuhiro Kita, took first place in the clinical category. Placing second in the same category were Haele Boyce, Nowha Braithwaite,  Daniel Castro, Mariam Habib, Riad Itani and Oren Park, who were mentored by Dr. Maria Frias. Students’ attendance at the MACUB Conference was made possible, in part, by an #HSI (Hispanic-Serving Institution)-STEM grant, of which the College is a recipient.💙❤️ #SFCNY looks forward to taking part in the National First-Generation College Celebration next week (November 4-8), joining other colleges and universities nationwide in raising awareness and advancing a national narrative of first-generation college students’ success and experiences.🌟❤️🐾💙🌟 Join us in celebrating our first-gen students at one or more of the events planned at SFC! From a financial awareness and readiness workshop, to a faculty panel, to a self-care and relaxation session, there is something for everyone.
